Stanley Bay School
Friends of Stanley Bay
The Friends of Stanley Bay School (FOSB) is a group of parents who volunteer their time to run events that build school and community spirit as well as raise vital funds for our great school. The school relies on these funds for school improvements as agreed by the Board – including increased teaching resources to maintain our small class sizes, teacher aides, professional development for the teachers, and classroom equipment. Despite careful budgeting, a budget deficit is again projected. This makes fundraising vitally important in continuing to provide the level of levels of education our children deserve.
Events 2023
Objectives
We raise funds annually to support the school budget and enhance the education and well-being of our students. We plan and deliver social activities and events for the purpose of:
- Building strong relationships and a positive sense of belonging within our school community
- Fundraising
- Promoting and increasing our school’s profile in the wider community
We need your help
We function as a sub-committee of the school Board with several parents who meet monthly, supported by a wider group of parents who help as and when they can or lead one-off events. Everyone is welcome to help and/or join in, be it as an ad-hoc volunteer or committee member. FOSB is a great way to meet new friends and join the community so if you are interested or want to know more, we would love to chat with you. Please contact Lucy Naylor at school.
Meetings
We welcome all parents/carers/family, teachers and staff to our team meetings, which are held monthly on Wednesday evenings.
Meeting notes are available on request from FOSB@stanleybay.school.nz
