Starting school is a very exciting time in a child's life. Here at Stanley Bay School we aim to make the transition into starting school and smooth and enjoyable one. We encourage parents and caregivers to get involved in the process by coming along with their child to pre-school visits before their 5th birthday.
Our pre-enrolment list is very useful and gives us an insight into the future and helps us predict the number of children expected to attend our school. Please phone the school office on 09 445 2510 or email [email protected] to add your child's name to the pre-enrol list. If your child is 5 we have limited out of zone places, if older, you must be living in our school zone to attend our school. Their birth certificate (or passport) and immunisation records must be available at the time of enrolment, this applies to children starting school for the first time. New residents to New Zealand must provide passports with current residency, or work permits. Once enrolled, you and your child will attend two pre-school visits. All enrolment forms and paperwork need to be completed before school visits. If your child has attended another school before starting at Stanley Bay School, please contact the office to arrange an appointment with the Principal and a visit to our school. Cohort Entry
To determine when your child starts school we use cohort entry. This means that children who have their fifth birthday between the start and mid-term date begin school at the start of term. Children who have a fifth birthday after the mid-term date are able to begin school at the start of the following term. We welcome visits from people interested in enrolling at our kura. If you would like to meet the principal and take a tour of the school contact the office.
