Lockdown Communication Information

EXAMPLES OF COMMUNICATION FOR AN EXERCISE ONLY

EMAIL TO STAFF

As you are aware, Stanley Bay School is conducting a lockdown exercise. This is how you will receive information in the first instance should a lockdown occur. Please remember to monitor your emails for updates and ensure that noise and movement is kept to an absolute minimum. Please reply to this email – do not hit “reply all”, just “reply.” Reply with your name, location, approximately how many students and if you are with another person (student teacher, relief teacher, visitor etc)
You will be advised PHYSICALLY of the all-clear. Do not come out of lockdown until this occurs.

NOTICE FOR WEBSITE

Stanley Bay School is conducting a lockdown exercise. All updates are provided on our website. Please do not come to the school or phone the school as you will not be attended to. We will update this website when the exercise has been completed.

NOTICE FOR WEBSITE POST LOCKDOWN

We have completed our lockdown exercise and all students, staff and persons on-site are safely accounted for. Everyone did extremely well and responded to instructions.

Stanley Bay School is in lockdown because of [incident] at/nearby the school.  Please continue to monitor your email for regular updates.   Ensure that noise and movement is kept to an absolute minimum and ensure that your doors and windows are locked, and your lights switched off.

Please do not come to the school or phone the school as you will not be attended to and this may cause disruption to the management of this incident and could potentially place yourselves and/or our staff and student’s safety at risk. We will update this website when the lockdown has been completed. Thank you.

MESSAGE TO STUDENT FAMILIES

Stanley Bay School has been advised to go into lockdown [by the police/initiated by the school] because of [bees/precautionary measure by the police/storm/dog etc].
Please do not come to the school or phone the school as you will not be attended to as your child’s welfare and safety is our priority. This includes contacting via email or phone, your son and/or daughter. Your assistance and cooperation are appreciated at this time. All further updates will be provided on the school website.
