Creative Matters Art Workshops after school – Looking for a quality, creative outlet for your child? Creative Matters workshops are fun, creative and educational and explore art ideas/techniques through the development of a rich creative process. Our artist led art classes for children aged 6-11 years will continue in term 1 2019. Wednesdays from 3-5pm, right here at Stanley Bay school. Children will go straight to this classroom to meet their tutor, local artist Jessica Pearless, at 3pm. Supervised afternoon tea break until 3.30pm and then the workshop starts at 3.30pm until 5pm. Craft & sewing classes at ‘The thread room’ – we will focus on fun, creative, crafty projects each week. We will develop a strong creative eye and learn some great craft skills. These projects will be made by hand and mostly textile based. This term will involve working on a variety of creations, such as hand-stitched dinosaurs, embroidery, weaving, clay modeling and more! Calling all budding girl football players – Football is a great game for teaching your child teamwork and communication skills. Research has shown girls who play sports, especially team sports, have higher levels of confidence and self-esteem, with a more positive body image. Your local club, North Shore United (NSU) is doing its best to encourage more girls into sport through football and is on the lookout for some more 9th grade (born in 2010) girls to join its first-ever, all girls-only 9th grade team.
