Ms Sian Clissold
Year 2 class, Room 1
I was born in Cardiff, Wales but moved to Auckland when I was nine months old. I grew up on the North Shore, where I lived for nine years before moving to Chester, England. It was then that I told my Mum I wanted to be a teacher because I thought my new teacher was ‘really cool’ because he played the guitar – and here I am!
I studied at Sheffield Hallam University before accepting my first teaching position in Barnstaple, Devon teaching a composite class of Year 3s and 4s. I soon decided to move back to the warmer climate of New Zealand in 2005 and am enjoying rediscovering New Zealand in my spare time. I was lucky enough to find a teaching position at Stanley Bay School teaching in the Junior School. I was appointed Senior Teacher of the Junior School in 2007 and vacated the position in 2008 when I went on maternity leave. I love working with such enthusiastic teachers and children.
